Surprise Surprise!

Hey Everyone!

It has been nearly a week since I last posted- I apologize!

So much has been going on. The holidays were so busy (but fun, of course) and then I got an unexpected surprise from my honey.

He surprised me with a trip to Washington DC!

We have a couple good friends that live there that we hardly get to see and since I took a couple days off work next week, I wanted to travel. We decided we weren't going to due to scheduling conflicts- but I later found out he was planning the whole thing out and included everyone around me so everyone knew except me!

I was so surprised! He really pulled it off. I am so thankful and blessed!

We did so much in the first day!

We went to the DC mall and went to a store called C Wonder. I found such cute plates and a phone case that had A's on them to match my name :)
~ W and I joined our friends and went to the Hop's restaurant and enjoyed dinner as well as those honey glazed mini croissants! YUM!

~ We have passed by the memorial so many times now and I finally got a pic!
We joined our friend's family in visiting the Holocaust Memorial. It is a great reminder of how blessed we all are and how we are not finished ending genocide.

To celebrate being in New England, W and I went to Lou's Sports Bar and watched the Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills! Go Patriots! :)

I hope everyone has had a good holiday! Anything exciting that went on? Share in the comments section below! :) :) I love to hear from you.

I will post more updates on the trip including what's in store for New Years as this trip unfolds!

I guess there are many more surprises ;) Cant wait!

Celebrating Italian Designers at the Met Ball

The Met Ball was invented to celebrate the annual opening of the Metropolitan Museum's fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. This is wear celebrities come out and celebrate great fashion, and support the costume institue and the museum.

They have dinner, cocktails, partnered with performances and after parties. It is a great night of high end fashion and good times.

This year, there was so many great designs by Italian designers. With my love for everything Italian, this was such a great event to me! :)

Have you seen the fashion?
Lets take a look at who wore the best... and who got the worst dressed trophy!

Best Dressed:

It probably wasn't hard to guess for my regular viewers, but my girl Beyonce won the best dressed category that night.

Wearing Givenchy, she dazzled in that sheer gown with the purple accented train.

Second Place is my girl, Jessica Alba wearing Michael Kors

Camille Bell in Ralph Lauren

Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gabbana

 Sophia Vergara in Marchesa

 Paula Patton in Vera Wang

Rihanna in Tom Ford

Lala teamed with Hubby Carmello Anthony

One of my other favorites! Nina Dobrev in NY designer Donna Karen

So who was the worst dressed... it is no secret!!

Sarah Jessica Parker!

I hope everyone enjoyed all the designs as much as I did!

Have a great week!

Look of the day! Euro Summer Chic

A year ago this week, I left for the best time of my life, Milan, Italy. In honor of the remembrance of such a wonderful time, I am showing a picture with the Duomo in the background. In this picture are my two best friends, Maggie and Michelle ( Twitter @missmaggiemer and @michellelaurene), and then me on the first day they came and visited me in such a great place. Great picture for the look of the day because it was the middle of may and summer was just beginning! So we picked some of our favorite spring/ summer casuals and headed to the city center. You know maxi dresses were in style last season! Hence Maggie and I's dresses, and also jumpers were too. Michelle sports her Jumper as a comfy, casual, but stylish outfit to roam around the city with. Maggie sports a strapless maxi with a stylish Fedora that matches! How Euro! I am wearing an H&M printed maxi and accessorized it with a tan belt around the waist to add curvature to what could be a "not so flattering" dress on my body time. I love adding belts to dresses and shirts to accentuate your waste line and bust to natural show the curves of your body. Great way to accessorize your outfits a little more while also showing off the curves of your body! Maggie used a wristlet to safely store her belongings and accessorize her summer chic look. So stylish! Something that is cool about the outfits in this picture is that if I or someone else were to see it on a rack at the store, it may look more plane than other things you may see at the store, but just adding a few accessories like a fedora, clutch or belt can make something that looks plane look stylish and eye catching!

Comment and let me know what you think! What would you add to make these pieces even better?

Ciao for now!

Beauty at its finest

At a evening at the Duomo, shopping as usual, I count help notice how the sunset illuminates the buildings in milan. It was so beautiful it was hard not to stare. The Duomo is definitely my favorite part of Milan. There is all kinds of stores, food, and a good time. You could stay around the duomo all day and not get bored. I always wondered why when you search Milan you saw the Duomo Cathedral... Now I know why! This place is mesmerizing, and the Duomo is a thousand times prettier in person. Stores here include: Rolex, Zara, Promod, H&M, Louis Vuitton, Prada, United Colors of Benetton, Armani, Marc Jacobs, Miss Sixty, Betsy Johnson, and much much more!! You have your not so expensive ready to wear to the Golden square of  fashion, which includes stores from the top designers around the world! It screams welcome to the fashion capital of the world!

A perfect day in Milan

Everyone have different definitions of their perfect day. Today, was one of my many perfect days. Knowing its sunny outside with beautiful architecture around you when you open your window, and let the sign shine in. Went to school, enjoyed the walk home in perfect weather, and enjoyed relaxing all day enjoying more pasta, feta cheese, tea ( of course) and fried potatoes. yum. a day with nothing you have to do & no definite plans. Now, blasting music, having a few drinks and getting ready for a night out on the town. Does that sound like a great day or what!?!?! with a 3 day weekend, I am excited to relax, sleep in, and plan my trip to verona on saturday! Ciao!!! :) Pics will be posted soon

Looking out my window

Sunday here in Milan seems so quiet compared to the US, church bells rang this morning ( woke me up) and my room mates and I stayed in all day enjoying cheese, crackers and tea. I love looking out my window seeing this clothing shop always busy. Its such a nice layout but I have yet to make my way to see what they have in store. On our lists for this week: finding a gym ( a better one than we have at our apartment), a tanning bed ( if there are any), going to the market to get fresh items, and of course, seeing what other fashion goods we can find! Tonight, we are having a simple spaghetti with garlic, cheese, white wine and fresh sauce. YUM!
--Pictures should be posted sometime early this week!
