The Life Lessons Behind Popping Pimples//Let Your Light Shine Thursday Link-Up!

Happy Thursday!

I hope everyone has been having an awesome week. Per usual, work is super busy but I have been taking a break from a lot of my usual routine things to try to get back in line with myself and with Jesus. Sometimes life gets so hectic that you can't even remember your thoughts, what you said two sentences ago, let alone remembering how it got to Thursday so fast.

So I have taken a different approach the last week and just did things that I wanted to do with no plan and getting away from my regular routine.

I have really been studying the Bible this week- that is one thing that often gets pushed aside, to be honest, because I let life get in the way- but it is SO important- it's honestly the most affordable healthcare there is, the best teaching out there, and the best way to gain knowledge about God's character.

Well, I have been doing this with my best friend, and when we were at a worship service on Tuesday, I randomly said "You know what the worst is? When you have a zit  and you pop it, and it just makes it worse and messes up your face. It's like we should just let the pimple run it's course."

We started laughing and make jokes on the life lesson's of popping pimples. Like "when you think you are popping your pimple to fix the problem, it blows up in your face and makes it worse (LOL so true!)!

Or " by popping your pimple, you are prolonging your problem, the pimple would have gone away in 2 days if you left it alone but instead you have to deal with it for another week now."

As we were joking, we realized how in actuality you can apply this to life!

We think if we don't take care of something or get control of something right away, it would get worse. And sometimes, if we try to take things into our own hands- we cause more issues! It's a great reminder to assess a situation before making action as well as trusting and having faith that some situations will come and go and run it's course. Many times there is no action we need to take, we just get so worked up in the moment!

It also reminded me that things aren't always as bad as it looks and instead of trying to change something that happens, let it run it's course and trust that God will help along the way. Like the pimple, it probably looked way better before I started picking at it. And if I would have just let it run it's course, I would be blemish free by now. If I put that principle in action in my own life, a lot of things in my life probably would be blemish free right now or would have been blemish free way sooner that they actually were.

It's a weird analogy, but it works! :) Who knew a popping pimples had a principle around it... LOL
