#OOTD//A New Season

Happy Monday, Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I sure did! It was relaxing, which is always nice. I was able to make it out to the farmer's market again, catch up on a couple shows, and spend time with friends and family.

With fall fast approaching, it makes me so excited for a new season. Not just a new season weather speaking, but a new season personally.

Lately, I have been getting the urge to "branch out" and discover new areas that I can place my seed.

I have always been interested in fashion, & with God continually pushing me to break out of my shell and show my talents, I am excited for the things I am dipping into to expand my interests and passions. I have set a big goal and am eager to accomplish it!

A new season brings new goals, new opportunities. I have already made some goals for myself this season that I am excited to challenge myself with.

1] Take 10,000 steps a day. Seems odd, but I just got a fitbit and want to set a goal that helps ensure I am moving my body an appropriate amount and making sure my body stays active. I think 10,000 steps a day is a good start :)

2] Pray more. I often say that I have a constant relationship with the Lord, where I am talking to Him and Him talking to me. But I have found that I do not often set aside time for formal prayer. Not that I think there is any right way to pray, but I want to set aside time for prayer with just the Lord and I. So I can pray for those who need prayer, pray for myself, and pray for other things I may not "pray" about when I am just talking to Him.

3] Do not get easily offended. I am very sensitive person. Everyone who knows me can testify for me. But the Bible says that love is not easily offended. I really want to practice that part of love. To practice letting things roll of my back.

4] Be loyal with my savings account. I have a savings, but I want a savings account that is one I don't ever touch. There is a plan where the rules are for whatever week of the year it is, place that amount of money in your bank account. For example, if it is week 1 of the year, that week you put in one dollar. The most you ever put in the bank account is 52 dollars (52 weeks in a year) but at the end of the year you have saved over $1,700. I want to start that so this time next year I will have saved that much. It may not seem like much, but knowing I have christmas present money already saved by this time next year would be a plus. ;)

I don't want to create too many goals where it's not manageable so I think I will stop there :) There are so many things I want to do but like I often say, one step at a time!

I think my goals focus on key things: Health, Jesus, Love and Finances. Big things in my life!

I heard a quote last week that said "Your dreams stop being dreams when you make them goals". I can agree with that! So I want to set goals for myself to continue to hold a standard for myself, challenge my abilities and keep achieving things I may have thought I never could.

What are some goals you want to accomplish this season?

I hope you have a great week!

Friday Flare

Happy Friday, Loves!

The fall breeze is in the air and although I don't like cold, I love fall fashion. Taking out the scarves, boots and hats while storing away the sandals and shorts.. feels so good!

Its a windy, cloudy day in the city, but that doesn't stop fashion.

A couple things I have done with this change of weather:

1] Embraced my curly hair. Fall is one of the best times for fashion (in my opinion) and I don't mean just clothing. I like to experiment with hair as well. So- I am bringing out my natural curls- although I end up putting it in a pony tail to avoid too much fluff.

2] I have brought out the jeans and booties.
I am a total fanatic when it comes to boots and booties. There are so many ways you can wear them and so many styles. I always get a size bigger so I can wear two pairs of socks :)

3] Started looking for coats!
Three things I love: shoes, watches and coats!! I think those three things can make a signature outfit. So I have started a style board of my top picks :)

I reallly want a trench this year. I always psych myself out of getting one but I think I may go for it this year.

I also want an open long coat. They are heavy, big and stylish.

One other piece I added that I can't wait to get are hats. I love hats and am excited to update my closet!

What items are on the top of your Fall Must Have List??
I always love ideas on what I could add to mine :)

Have a great weekend!!!

Made With Zeal//LYLS Thursday Link Up!

Happy Thursday, Everyone!

You may have noticed 2 things.
1. that I have not posted in a week and
2. I have a whole new name and blog!

Well, there are two reasons behind this. First, I haven't posted all week because I have been organizing the switch from the old blog (True Soul & Spirit) to this one. Second, I changed the name and look because of the meaning behind it.

I really liked my other name, but it wasn't very personal to me or had much meaning behind it- I just liked it. I want everything on my blog, where I share my most intimate thoughts, to have purpose behind it, including the name.

Made with Zeal came to me and I am so glad it did because it can be applied to so many aspects on my blog. Zeal means great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or adjective. Synonyms for zeal include love, fire, passion, energy, and intensity.. just to name a few.

The name ties into my faith, how I feel about my blog, and things in my and around my life.

God made me with zeal. He made me with great love and enthusiasm. For a purpose and objective. I was made with zeal by my Lord and Savior. He put a lot of thought into making me, he has refined me with fire and put energy and love in my heart like never before.

My blog was made with zeal. I am so passionate about my blog and get such energy when I think about different things I want to do with it.

I try to have zeal in many areas in my life. From work, to my hobbies, to my friendships, to my chores. I try to live each day enthusiastically. I try to have purpose in everything I do- with wisdom and knowledge.

Those are the main reasons why I felt a need to change the name of my blog. Because the name fits me in so many ways.

There is much to be done still (as you can see by some icons and things) but in time it will be perfected!

Five on Friday: Things about Me.

Happy Friday, Loves!

When I post on Friday's, usually I post about my favorite things throughout the week. Today, I am going to tell you five things about me that maybe you didn't know! Some are good things, some are flaws- but either way- they make up WHO I AM!

1] I am a passionate person
I tend to get very passionate about things. I think this can be a flaw and a strength. I have heard a good amount of people in my life tell me I care TOO much about things sometimes- good or bad. I love strongly, I express my feelings on things, and it's hard to let things go sometimes because I get so involved. To be honest, I am trying to "let go" of some things right now because I realized I am just TOO deep. I am focusing on striking a balance :)

2] I am an overall very peppy person
I wake up in a good mood (typically) and am good at not letting one thing going bad effect other areas of my life- except when things get very overwhelming (like you have seen with my work). When things get overwhelming for me, it tends to leak into other areas of my life of it overall drags me down. The best thing for me is to take a couple days of Me time (& Jesus time) to get back on track. I catch myself often trying to be more "chill" but I can't help it! I am naturally peppy- maybe I got it from being a cheerleader for so long ;)

3] I love animals and babies.
How can you not????
Animals and children are such a gift from God (I think). My nephew and god-daughters bring such joy to my life- by just a simple smile or being in the room. It is truly a blessing to have such innocent spirits in my life. I also love to see their personalities blossom. It makes me excited for when I have children someday- how I will feel about them.
My animals are the same for me. They show such unconditional love. I found myself trying to mimic their love for me to other people! Sounds weird but they instantly forgive and just want to live- that's how I want to be. I want to get to the point that forgiveness is just an automatic for me- just like it is for Jesus with us.

4] I am a thinker.
I think.... a lot. I over analyze, think long term and am always thinking about the cause and effects. Again, both a strength and downfall. I tend to look too deep into things that in turn cause me to use more energy than needed- adding stress often times. Silly, I know- but it is a trait that I had for my life!
The bright side of thinking is that I think about how my decisions will effect my life or situation. Since I tend to be a long term thinker and not short term- I am able to plan things out more successfully or make decisions based on what will give me a greater return in the future.

5] I love Jesus.
I am in the best relationship I could have ever asked for. I have my very being through Him. And although I often get in my own way, He picks me up. He has taught me more in the last year and half than I have learned in a lifetime without Him. He is what gives me strength over everything in my life. And no matter what I am like or what traits I have- I know I also have the traits of Jesus- and he continues to make me a better me everyday. The best part is??? He accepts me even when I fail, when my old habits come through, when I show my flaws and when I am unlovable (believe me, I can be very unlovable). He loves me first- and I love Him back. He is so awesome. I cherish my alone time with Him, because that's when I learn so much and get fed. People say I am a homebody and don't like to go out. Well the truth is, it is because I LOVE my alone time with Jesus. Not just reading the bible or meditating, but resting in Him and focusing on Him to rid my mind of everything else that consumes my mind on a minute to minute basis.

Welp! That's a little about me in 5 bullets.

Have an awesome weekend everyone!

LYLS Thursday Link Up!

Happy (Throw Back) Thursday!

I go through times when I just miss Italy, a lot. There are days that I just can't stop thinking about it. I cannot wait to go back. Today I am posting throwback pics of my time in Florence. Although I lived in Milan when I was studying abroad, Florence was one of my favorite places. Let me reminisce... :)

Putting On A Different Lens

Time For School, Back From A Long Weekend- Whatever it is, Happy Tuesday!

Have you ever heard the phrase "It's like my eyes have been opened!" or "I can see clearly now!" or even "The blinders have been taken off- now I can see"

In my life, I have had many times that I say that. There have been many situations that have happened that have helped me grow, helped me understand better, and helped me see things differently.

Some things happen unexpectedly that help us see things differently, but Jesus was teaching me this week that often times how we want to see things come down to choice. We can choose what type of lens we want to see out of.

For example, with my stress at my job, I was looking at things so negatively and with doubt. I was looking out of a lens that was not helping me see the good, the opportunities, or even the positives. I was praying to God to help things come to pass (& He will) but I would find myself still seeing things from a negative perspective instead of with hope, positivity, and faith like Jesus tells me to.

He said to me " You are looking at your situation through the wrong lens."

I was looking through a negative lens, so I have started trying to view my situation through a lens of gratitude and positivity. In this short time, it has helped me see that though my situation with my job is stressful, it is setting me up for success.

Sometimes Jesus has us go through seasons that are more difficult because it will build us for the future. It will help us get prepared for what's to come. It will make us better. It will make us stronger. It will make us wiser.

So now, I am looking at every hardship in my life as an opportunity. To learn, to gain wisdom, to refine me. How I know? God's will is perfect, is timing is perfect, and his plan is perfect. Everything will work out perfectly with Jesus & I know that no matter what, He has a perfect plan for my life! No matter what it looks like! So that is why no matter what, we can choose the lens we want to look out of.

We WILL get there!! :) :) :)

Here are some songs that I love to get positive with :)
Enjoy!
