Lets Talk: Shoes

Now that everyone is getting in the mood for Spring (atleast here in MN we are), I am going to do a post on the Fashion color trends of the season as well as what shoes you should be caught wearing this Spring/Summer season!

Colors

Provocative Tangerine Tango, an enticing juicy orange, is a vivacious and appealing refresher to enliven anyone's outlook this spring. Providing a jolt of energy, Solar Power radiates warmth and cheer.

Fanciful Bellflower, a distinct ornamental purple, exudes uniqueness and creativity. Scintillating and sexy, Cabaret is a sensual and intense rosy-red — an excellent
choice for summer clothing and cosmetics.

Sodalite Blue, a classic maritime hue, brings order and calmness to mind. This dependable shade works with every color in the palette.
Cockatoo, a tactile blue-green, is sure to make your spirits soar. This unusual hue
adds a whimsical touch to the palette and will surely make a statement this spring.

Margarita, a piquant yellow-green, lifts spirits with its refreshing and stimulating glow. Reminiscent of a blossoming garden on an early spring morning, fragrant Sweet Lilac evokes the fresh scents of summer. This delicate pinkish lilac adds a touch of romance
to any wardrobe.

All of these women are wearing great colors to go with the trends this season. Pay attention to the bright pinks, turquoise, Tangerines of different hues and also the shoes! Kardashian is sporting a nude pointy toed- high platform pump and flats are of course the "everyday wear" shoe every girl has! What is so great about these colors is that you can mix and match them so easy!!

Are you ready to see what shoes you should be looking for?
Here we go!

Of course nude heels have become the new black pump. But pay attention how the heel is becoming more pointed for this season. Because pointy pumps are back in! These lovely pumps are Michael Kors, $195.

Pumps are my favorite shoe. They are so comfortable and so stylish for any occasion. Here is Michael Kors again and you can get his lovely wedge for $350. Notice also how the gold is metallic, which we will get to later.
High platform shoes are in! You can see them everywhere you go this season. with the thick heel and high platform, no need to worry about how short you are! :) This is again Michael Kors for $135.
Pointy Toed- printed heels are back! Here is a Miu Miu pump from his Sp/Summer 2012 line for $580.

The traditional black pump is perfect for any occasion, but again, notice the pointy toed.. no longer round! This is Nine West for $120.
Glitter, Glam and Metallics are in! So those who like to go bold with you wardrobe, your chance is now! Here is an Alexander Mcqueen pump that he featured in this season's line. I love the heal on this! And notice the color :)

Go Big or Go Home, Right? Here is another example of the metallic bold look that designers are going for. This is a Loubiton

You cant forget the gold, sparkly, pointy toed shoe! This is a shoe I adore and would love to wear. Another way to shine this season! :)
One shoe that was featured highly in the Paris Fashion Week shows this season was the ankle strap shoe. And why wouldnt they!? They are adorable and can fit any occasion. Not only just ankle strap shoes, but buckled, lace, and sandal heels are in too! This shoe I love!
Love these styles of the ankle strap shoes. One other type of shoe that is in this season that I didnt mention above is see- through heels. Like the top one shown here. They arent particularly my favorite but they are still rockable! ;)

And you know I cant forget about my Men viewers! Here are some great shoes that you could rock for any occasion... and you know me.. I will always say  "Dress to impress for your lady!"

This is one of my favorites. This is a Lanvin shoes that is a great color for all different color wardrobes. Perfect for a casual day.
Colors all around! These Prada Men's shoes are great for any type of day with something you want to match! Love it!

This is a tennis shoe from one of my personal favorite designers, DSquared. This is for the funky male that loves to create his own style. Love this, again lol
I have always been a huge fan of Loubiton women's shoes, but this right here is a great shoe, too! Great color, style and fit. This could fit in any man's wardrobe!

This Pierre Hardy shoe is a great example of how men can wear the color trends of the season too. Great Shoe to wear with Any light or dark colored top. This shoe would look great teamed up with a blazer!

I just had to feature a men's Tod's shoe. He is one of my favorite designers for men's shoes and although this may throw some guys off, you would be surprised how great this would look with your favorite pair of jeans. Every guy needs a pair of blue suede shoes :) HEHE

Well that wraps it up for today! Show off your personality with the great colors featured for this season and never talk yourself out of buying a great pair of shoes. Just keep in mind this season's trends and you will sure to get the double take everyone loves! :)

Happy Thursday Everyone! :))

Pregnancy Fashion: Hide or Emphasize

When I was out shopping with my sister the other day, I couldn't help but notice the cute maternity clothes that some places had, even Target! In honor of my sister (& many others) being pregnant, I decided to do a pregnant fashion post because there are so many cute, fun, fashionable designs our for the spring/summer.

Whether you are trying to cover and hide the bump, or emphasize it, here are some looks that maybe you would like to try, or your friend/sister/mother/cousin/daughter would like to try! :)

Although we dont all feel like we could be this cute while pregnant, we sure can try! :)  In a recent interview with Miranda Kerr on Ellen, she explained how taking proper vitamins was essential for her during pregnancy to bounce back quickly, along with using good lotion on her body multiple times a day!

With the fashion: Although this is a high fashion dress, this is something you could go for if you are going to something more formal, even when pregnant! Black is a natural slimming color so although it may not completely cover your bump, it will help with the slimming of you figure and help hide it a little bit.

I love Kourtney Kardashians fashion sense! This would be my personal way of dressing to impress while pregnant. A flowy black top with a blazer is a great way to cover the bump and look slimming. Who said you cant wear pleather pants while pregnant??
Wearing a printed top will take away from your growing bum as well. Jessica added a jacket on top to add accent her outfit. Did she have the baby yet??? lol

For those who want to emphasize your bump, this is a tasteful way to do that. A deep V neckline with a tight band along the waste emphasizes her bump and the polka dots vs. a solid color help keep the eye traveling than just focusing on one area AKA your baby bump.

This is a cute semi-poncho jacket that would be so cute to wear while pregnant. I personally love this style trench coat and would totally rock this!

Is this not adorable? I love daring moms that can wear heels while pregnant! A simple tee and jeans with a faux fur vest and heels. Great way to have a simple, yet stylish look!
Another casual outfit for everyday, pregnant or not! adding a jacket and scarf is a great way to emphasize the outfit and keep the eye traveling rather than being focused on one thing.

This dress is a PERFECT dress to wear to help cover your baby bump. Great for summer but the ruffles will help add texture to the outfit so it will blend your baby bump better then without the dress gathering.

Those are just some styles that you could try. Pregnancy Fashion is one of my favorites because you get to add fun styles with such a beautiful thing! Here are some celebs that keep in style :)

Jessica Alba

Who doesnt love Jessica Alba??? From her quirky, bubbly personality to her rockin looks .. she is hard not to love. With her different looks she tries while pregnant, you can hardly even notice that she is indeed pregnant! Wearing jackets over your outfits is once again a great way to "camouflage" your baby bump :)
Beyonce Knowles
You know I can't forget about Beyonce! Not only am I her number one fan, but I idolize her on her sense of fashion. Here is some of her fun pregnancy looks.

Who said you cant wear a short, shiny cocktail dress when pregnant?? Beyonce doesnt take no for an answer to doing that and wearing her usual high heels. The design of the dress and the jacket over it camouflages her baby bump well. Does she look beautiful or what?!?

8 months pregnant... Can you tell??? Couldve fooled me. Covering her bump with a jacket and scarf made her look like she did 8 months before! Great look!
Some women may argue that they dont want to spend the money on maternity clothes because they will continue to grow and be done with them after 9 months. BUT you can get great deals on some maternity clothes and if you choose carefully, like black shirts, dresses, different blazers.. you can wear them for every pregnancy. Some things just dont go out of style!

Also, if you dont think you will use them again or keep them for later pregnancy, getting great fashion will make it easier to get rid of them (like sell them or donate them) than throw them away. Your friends in family will be more interested in your pregnancy hand me downs.

I have found great deals on pregnancy things (not for me haha) at places like Target, JCpenny, Nordstrom, Macy's, etc..

Try it! Embrace your baby bump through fashion! :)

Lets Celebrate!: Weddings

Hello once again everyone!

This last weekend, my great friends, Leslie and Whitney, got married here in Minnesota and my oh my was it absolutely beautiful! Whitney looked flawless and Leslie looked sharp as a tack.

While getting ready for the wedding, I was having a really hard time finding something to wear to a wedding. Some dresses were too short, some too long, and others just werent the right color! Another problem I had was a lot of my dresses weren't appropriate wedding attire!  I finally found something to wear, but I still wish I would have thought a little more ahead of what I should wear.

A lot of times at weddings, you see men and women that do not have the most wedding appropriate clothes on. Sometimes they are too formal, some are too revealing, or some just are wearing something that doesnt fit right. Im here to help.

So in honor of my two friends getting married and me having a hard time finding what to wear, I decided to do a post on appropriate wedding guest attire!

Depending on how formal/informal a wedding is, or even what time of day the wedding is, the dress that is more acceptable than others will change. But if you want to play it safe, I encourage people to wear a [cocktail dress] that isn't too short, revealing, and it fits right. For a more formal wedding, I am the type of person that says go ahead and wear a long dress, but it is hard to find the right one. Most weddings, nowadays.. women tend to go for the shorter dresses. Here are some ideas for you to consider:

Curious to know what NOT to wear??? Here's a list:
  • White. (This rule has relaxed some, and you can get away with wearing a printed dress with a white background and some cream colored clothing. Just be careful not to upstage the bride.)
  • Black to a daytime wedding
  • Jeans
  • Anything too sexy or revealing
  • Anything torn, with holes, stained, too big or too small for you!
  • Anything sleeveless or strapless to a religious wedding. Bring a wrap to cover your shoulders.

I love this dress.. the length is questionable but it covers the chest and is so pretty with the lace. many women can pull this off and its a dress that you can wear to many events.

The right is too short, but it is a good example of different styles you could wear. The left side is a great dress to wear because of the length and the coverage. Great color, too!

This is something you older viewers might prefer. This is a conservative look but great for something like a wedding.

I love this dress. Perfect length and the V neckline and band around the waist adds the perfect detail for a simple dress. It covers enough to be appropriate and has thick straps so it doesnt look tacky for a wedding.

This is my favorite. Although this is an evening dress, its detailed with the one shoulder and tightening waist line. A comfortable, classy look for a wedding.

This is more conservative but again, perfect for a wedding. The color is great and it has just enough detail on the bottom. Another example of the perfect length!

This is for a more formal wedding and a good example of a long dress that would be acceptable for a wedding. Love it!

This is one of my other favorites. Its a fitted dress but perfect length and I love the detail cut on the top.Perfect!
Although this is a thin strapped dress, It is a light color so it wont look tacky or take away from the elegance of the dress. Perfect color and style for a wedding.

Men!! I didnt forget about you! Here are some ideas for you.
Here is a great example for a wedding, formal or not. There is no tie but it is a fitted suit.
Here is a good example for khakis. Mixing and matching with colors, too! You could even wear this outfit without the jacket, but it adds to the outfit, definitely.

Here is another good example of khakis. I also wanted to point out that he is a wearing a sweater over a button up that I think looks good at anytime, anywhere. At the same time he still looks more formal than casual but no overly dressed.

Wearing just a button up with slacks is totally acceptable. But I always love to see a man build his outfit with a jacket or nice sweater. Then finish it with nice shoes and good accessories!

I hope this is helpful with wedding season soon approaching. Let me know if you want to see anything else! :)

Spring is Here!

Hello Everyone!
It has been almost a month since my last post and I am sincerely sorry! March has been a crazy month for me. School has been nuts, work has been crazy and then I got some vacation time in to enjoy Spring Break in Panama City Beach! I will be posting a few pics of the people and I who got to enjoy the experience together :)

So because Spring is here and the weather has been BEAUTIFUL in Minnesota, I want to do a post dedicated to Spring, giving you the 'ins" for the season and what I & others have been dragging out of their classes thus far!

I also have an awesome addition for my blog! My boyfriend is a very talented producer/ musician and he is going to be putting his music on my blog to make it easier for our shared friends and followers to listen to his music! I am going to be putting a new song up of his with every blog post I do. Our goal is to put a beat or song up that matches the "theme" of my post!

So as I mentioned, I went on a nice vacation with my friends from the U of MN and we had a great time! I was so excited to start wearing "lighter" clothes and more colors! Here is a few pics from the experience!

This was the first night we were in Panama City Beach! That night we decided to go the Club La Vela, which is a huge club right on the beach! I decided to wear a low neckline dress (to show some assets hehe) and customized it with a black belt to match part of the straps and then pocket lining of the dress. I added my favorite red, black and white zebra pumps and matched the red of the shoes with some red lipstick! You always have to add red to a black and white wardrobe, in my opinion! :) hehe. My friend Jessica took out her floral sun dress and wore it with such cute Steve Madden wedges! She also had a pair in black. Both outfits great for a night out in the Springtime because they are light, flowy and bright! :)
This was the third night we were there. We went to a great restaurant called MargheritaVille where there was a live band ( you can see in the background). And the food was awesome! The best quesadillas I have ever tasted! This night, I wore a tan low neckline tank with my favorite black pointy-shoulder blazer with dark blue skinny jeans and gold cork wedges. I matched the shoes with some gold accessories to tie the outfit together! Jessica wore another awesome sun dress that was floral with all the colors of the rainbow! As you can see! The bottom of the dress was at an angle to add flare to the dress! It was beautiful.

My outfit was more for a night out on town and jessica's was too, but you could also wear hers many other places! During the day, to the beach, out to dinner... thats the great thing about some dresses! You can wear them anywhere!

I just thought I would post a pic of my love and I. He was in Panama City a week before me but somehow arranged it for him to stay 3 more days so he could see and be with me! He is wearing one of my favorite shirts for him.. he looks so good in red! It is a Marc Ecko V- neck T but no guy can go wrong with a V neck T for any time of day. Simple, but sexy, in my opinion :) We had so much fun together and I think he would agree that those chicken quesadillas were the best, too :) haha!
This night, we went to a bar called Hammerhead Fred's.. which wasn't my favorite. Although the cover wasnt as high as other bars/clubs, it was very scattered and the dance floor was...different. But we still dressed to impress for a summer night! Jessica wore yet another colorful cute top and matched it with a pink skirt. She does such a great job with combining many colors! I wore a shear floral top that my mom got me for 8 dollars! and Wore them with white shorts and wore a tan belt.

This was later in the week when we decided to dress up a little more and head to a REALLY fun bar called Sharky's. It was so fun.. although there were so many guys compared to girls! It was kind of funny, actually, haha. But This night I wore a brown/purple-ish fitted skirt and added a low cleavage tank with sheer sides, which went well with the color of the skirt. Then to add some sophistication to the outfit, I wore my black blazer over it. It can also get chilly in PCB at night so it was one way I wouldnt freeze! Such a fun night!
Our crew :)

This was the last full day we were in PCB :( we decided to take advantage of the beautiful day to take some pictures! Jessica and I also decided to go parasailing that day! It was an amazing experience and cannot wait to go again!
One last photo of the sunset in PCB I took... It was so beautiful! Much needed vacation!
